South Asian Progressive Alliance (SAPA)

South Asians for Black Lives

The letter expresses SAPA’s solidarity with Black communities across the country, and highlights the importance of working to build robust communities of color. At the same time, it insists that we move “beyond platitudes and hollow statements of solidarity,” offering action items to support Black lives and amplify Black voices. The letter also emphasizes the need not only to address anti-Blackness in North America, but to address the racism and casteism inherent in our own communities.

Princeton University is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of Lenapehoking and the Lenape people. We pay respect to Lenape peoples past, present, and future and their continuing presence in the homeland and throughout the Lenape diaspora.
